What is the Technology?
The inherent chemical reactivity centres on their high surface area. Because of their exceptional porosity, NanoActive Materials have demonstrated the ability to destructively adsorb a wide range of harmful chemicals and odour causing compounds.
Our manufacturing techniques produce advanced materials with small crystallite sizes (eg., 2-10nm), which agglomerate into micron size particles (2-10um) and have very high porosity (up to 1.5 cc/g). This porosity allows for the entire particle to be utilised in the reaction. Specifically, the molecular structure allows for higher chemical reaction and faster binding affinity to reactive agents on surfaces or airborne.
This highly porous structure enables the materials to adsorb substances into the pore space by contact with coordinated unsaturated atoms/ions on the corners and edges of the crystal lattice structure.
FAST-ACT Mode of Operation
Liquid Containment – Chemical taken up by adsorption into the large porous surfaces.
Adsorption – Chemical bound to surface of FAST-ACT molecule.
Neutralisation – Chemical reaction occurs to change the toxin to non-hazardous.
